Episode 001 – Steven Coutts (The Cookie Jar Foundation) (31/10/2015)

The Cookie Jar Foundation was formed, in memory of the late Christopher “Cookie” Coutts who passed away on 3rd of June 2013 after fighting Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Cancer, as a non-profit foundation to support “both children and those in need of help, whether it be in hospital, educational or community based environment.”

From left to right: The Cookie Jar Foundation's Louise, Debbie and Steven Coutts helping to raise funds for Edinburgh's Royal Sick Kids Foundation.

The Fife based non-profit are prominent in providing help and support from funding vein finders for hospitals to funding Maggie’s Young Person Group, a group giving support for young cancer patients. The story continues with huge fundraising efforts, wide support from the local community and working with the Royal Sick Kids Foundation to help raise funds for the new Royal Sick Kids hospital based in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Steven Coutts, Cookie’s brother and responsible for the marketing and events aspects of the Cookie Jar Foundation speaks to me about Cookie, the rise of the Cookie Jar Foundation, what’s happened and what’s next for the non-profit.
