This week on Over The Mic we are looking at being the underdog. What’s it like to achieve something against all the odds? How do you defy everyone’s expectations?
The case study for this is the Edinburgh Napier Formula Student team, based in Edinburgh Napier University. Formula Student is a competition operated by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers that allows engineering and business students across the UK (and beyond) to design and build a racing car along with it’s business case. All to be presented in front of motorsport professionals.
Ross Brawn OBE, former Ferrari F1 technical director and team principal of Brawn GP/Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team, is a patron of the competition.
Matthew speaks to Edinburgh Napier Formula Student’s current team principal Jonathan Peffers and Head of Business Polly Wong about the team overcoming all difficulties to enter their first Formula Student competition in July.
